Radnor House Pupils Delighted with GCSE Results
23rd Aug 2018
Celebrating our Fantastic 2018 GCSE results.
Following the excellent A Level results last week, Radnor House is today celebrating further success with its GCSE results, bucking the national trend by increasing its top grades significantly and raising its overall pass rate.
Nearly half the grades (49%) awarded to our Year 11 pupils were at the top levels (A*/A or 9-7), up from 40% last year, and the A*to C (or 9-4) pass rate was 94%, up from 91.5% last year.
These impressive results show clear signs of progress and highlight some exceptional achievement at the top end, where nearly 10% of the new numbered grades were awarded at a 9, the highest level possible.
Head, Darryl Wideman, said: “Despite all the predictions in the media that this was going to be a bad year for results nationally, Radnor House pupils have done themselves proud with their achievements, helped in no small measure by the huge commitment and dedication of their teachers. The increased pass rate was very encouraging and the number of top grades was exceptional.”
