Religious Education and Theology

Religious Education provokes important and challenging questions about the ultimate meaning and purpose of life, beliefs about God, the self and the nature of reality, issues of right and wrong and what it means to be human.

Religious Education at Radnor House covers a wide range of religious traditions, exploring both the observable practise of faiths but also their deep underlying theology. Religious Education challenges pupils to think critically about religious beliefs including their own as part of their personal and spiritual development. Additionally, Religious Education helps provide students with a broader understanding of the diverse and changing society and the world in which they live.

All pupils study Religious Education until Year 9 for one period a week. After that, they may choose it as an option for GCSE in which they study both Christianity and Buddhism.

In the Sixth Form, they may opt to take an A Level in Philosophy which covers the Philosophy of Religion and Ethics.
