Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Radnor House’s website and thank you for taking the time to find out more about us, particularly if you are thinking about the school as a place where your child might thrive and be successful in the years ahead – the good news is that they will!

Radnor House is a friendly and effective school that provides an excellent educational experience. With around 455 pupils, we are small enough to know every child well and big enough to offer an environment where every child can make the most of their talents through a host of opportunities, both inside and outside the classroom.

Our strapline is ‘Great Teaching, Genuine Values’, which sums us up nicely. Founded in 2011 on the belief that education must nurture, encourage and celebrate children, at Radnor House today you will find a dynamic mix of high academic standards, exceptional pastoral care and expansive opportunities for pupils within a supportive environment and beautiful setting on the banks of the River Thames.

Our boys and girls are happy, accomplished and well-focused, and Radnor House has become one of the most dynamic and exciting schools in the area, a situation that will only be enhanced with our forthcoming move to a new 30-acre site at Kneller Hall, near to Twickenham Stadium.

Our four core values are not just words because they genuinely underpin everything we do:

· Courage – we expect everyone to try their best, to have a go and to be brave in their approach to all the challenges of school and the wider world;

· Excellence – we ask everyone to be their most excellent self, able to look themselves in the eye in the mirror every day and to know they could not have done any more;

· Perseverance – we need to be able to persevere in order to achieve things, to maintain a positive attitude and not give up when the going gets tough;

· Respect – we must treat each other with respect and kindness at all times, regardless of who we are or wherever our talents or weaknesses may lie.

My favourite description of Radnor House is that we provide a refreshingly enlightened alternative approach to education, with our focus on encouragement rather than pressure, and with our values driving everything we do.

Judged as Excellent in all categories by the Independent Schools Inspectorate in February 2020, and with the move to Kneller Hall giving us the chance to extend our offering in all areas, it seems entirely reasonable to say that Radnor House is an excellent school with an exceptional future, and we would be delighted if your child and your family could be part of it.
