Application Process and Assessment Details
We would advise parents to apply at least one year prior to entry. The entry procedure for Year 5 is via a classroom-based assessment morning. One class with approximately 20 places is available to girls and boys following a successful performance in the assessment.
An offer of a place will be based on successful performance in the classroom assessments of Mathematics, English, Reading and in attitude to learning. We will review a copy of their end of Year 3 full written school report, along with a reference from their school. The children will also take part in a group interview with the Head.
A Registration Form can be downloaded on this page, please see below. This can be emailed to email@example.com, or posted for the attention of the Registrar, along with a copy of the child's end of Year 3 full written school report.
Apply now for entry in September 2020, the deadline for registrations is Friday 29th November. Applications received after the deadline will be considered at the discretion of the Registrar.
The assessments and interviews for Year 5 entry in 2020 will be held on Tuesday 21st January, Wednesday 22nd January or Thursday 23rd January 2020
Further information about admissions dates for 2020 entry can be found here: Year 5 Key Admissions Dates 2020
Examination Access Arrangements
We are able to grant access arrangements such as extra time or use of a computer for the examinations to support those applicants with a diagnosed learning difficulty or disability. The request should be supported by a written report from a recognised expert, dated within two years of the January assessment date. A written request for special access arrangements must be submitted along with the written report, by the published registration deadline. Evidence of history for the need of this provision will be sought from the applicant's current school.
Please send copies of any relevant reports confirming the details of the specific arrangements along with the registration form. The specific arrangements for the examinations will only be confirmed once the relevant reports have been received and reviewed.
The deadline to apply for access arrangements for 2020 entry is Friday 29th November 2019.
Radnor House, as a co-educational school with a family centred ethos, prioritises the admission of siblings who wish to be educated at the same school. To facilitate this, preference will be given to applications from girls and boys who have a sibling currently being educated at the school who fully meet the entrance requirements.
Admission of a sibling to Radnor House is dependent on the availability of places and on the sibling successfully completing the published assessment criteria for admission to Radnor House.
